August 2021 NEWSLETTER
LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTOR

Greetings!

From our perspective, our summer reading/programming was a great success! You attended our outside programs and those on Zoom. You are browsing/checking out your library materials in person, and we are excited to see you here! A few months ago, I told the staff that we would probably open in September for in-house programs. Although, at the moment, that is still the plan, I am watching the COVID variant cases and what our local and state authorities are recommending to keep us safe. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding if anything changes at the last minute. As always, we will make note of changes on our website, social media, our eNewsletter, and in some cases by email.

Do you use our eMagazines? Currently, through your DSCL account created on the Flipster app, you have full-image, turn-page access to: Architectural Digest, Internet Genealogy, Texas Highways, Texas Parks & Wildlife, The Week, Clean Eating, Country Living, Discover, The Family Handyman, Food Network Magazine, Golf Magazine, Good Housekeeping, HGTV Magazine, House Beautiful, In Touch Weekly, Kiplinger Personal Finance, Macworld, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, National Geographic, OK!, PCWorld, Prevention, Reader’s Digest, Rolling Stone, Star (U.S. Edition), Taste of Home, Us Weekly, Vanity Fair, Wired, Woman’s Day, Woman’s World.

What, if any, magazines would you read digitally on an ongoing basis? Please email me (director@dscl.org) to let me know a title. I will not promise to add it to our subscription list, but I will promise to consider your suggestion seriously. I appreciate your help!

Keep reading and take care!   Marcia Atilano, Library Director

Book Donations

DSCL is taking book donations, and we ask that you limit them to two medium boxes.  With few exceptions, most donated books are placed into our ongoing book sale, which benefits DSCL. For more information please see our Donation guidelines
