October 2021 NEWSLETTER
LETTER FROM OUR DIRECTOR

Greetings!

Once again, I need your help! I am evaluating one more potential resource to add to our eOfferings. This time the Dripping Springs Community Library Trial  is for Press Reader, and the trial will last through October 15. This eResource provides desktop access to 7,000+ U.S. and international newspapers and magazines including the LOS ANGELES TIMES and the CHICAGO TRIBUNE. If we subscribe, there is also a related app for your device(s). Last month, you may have investigated the U.S. Dailies trial (now expired), which offers these two newspapers as well as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, in an up-to-date, article by article format.  In Press Reader, there is content from 120 countries and in 60 different languages. You will find The GUARDIAN, BLOOMBERG BUSINESSWEEK, FORBES, NEWSWEEK, SOUTHERN LIVING, ATOMIC RANCH, and many more titles. Do check it out and please email me (director@dscl.org) with your thoughts.

We hope that as much as possible you are using our website to find out about the DSCLibrary. Did you know that many of your questions may be answered under the “Frequently Asked Questions” tab, or that under the “Other Resources” tab you can find the voting locations for the November election, book suggestion sites and much more? Don’t forget to check the “Calendar link which tells you dates/times of our program offerings and includes a link for registration for those programs requiring it.

We hope that you are enjoying the change in the weather and along with it, your next pick from DSCL to read, listen to or watch! Any questions, please email or call us (512.858.7825). Take care,  Marcia Atilano, Library Director

BOOK DONATIONS

DSCL is taking book donations, and we ask that you limit them to two medium boxes.  With few exceptions, most donated books are placed into our ongoing book sale, which benefits DSCL. For more information please see our Donation guidelines
